I had a constant bout of streptococcal pharyngitis till the age of ten. The symptoms of Strep were sore throat, swollen tonsils, tender and inflamed lymph nodes, tonsillar exudate (pus), bad breath and headache. In order to maintain my health, I used antibiotics prescribed by a doctor, and some herbalism directed by my Mommy. Nothing brought curable results, the ailment was recurring and periodical.

Finally, I had a Tonsillectomy done at the age of ten at an Army Medical Hospital in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. During the pre- and post-surgery period, I was given antibiotics repeatedly. That caused diarrhea and other direct toxic effects. I was in a state of constant anguish because my throat was either stabbing or excruciatingly sore.

After surgery, my voice turned squeaky and girlish — for some time I was a laughingstock at my school.

There was relative calm for 4 to 5 years. When I was 15 years old, my throat felt lumpy again. I told my elder sisters that I was not feeling well and needed to go to a doctor, but both were busy with their exams and academic life. My sister suggested that I should go to a neighborhood doctor named Dr. Qureshi — a Homeopathic practitioner. I had no other choice except to try this esoteric system of holistic healing. He was a mile away. I decided to seek his help. It took him 20 minutes to take my case — an elderly, shaky man with a cachexia appearance. He gave me a ½ Dram vial with little sugar pills in it.

I arrived home feverish and exhausted. As directed by him, I dropped a few pills in the vial cap and tossed it in my mouth. Within 15 minutes of dissolving the pills in my mouth, I started sweating. In a total of 45 minutes to an hour, I was relieved of fever and stabbing throat pain. That was my “Ah-Ha!” moment. I found a path and method of healing. My inner self realized the possibility and potential of Homeopathy. It gave me contentment and a sense of medical empowerment.

Now I am 55 years old, and for 41 of those years I have used Homeopathy for chronic, acute, and certain urgent circumstances. The other 14 years was a life of ignorance, or when I had no choice but to use orthodox medicine.

My life experience has made me an ardent and keen practitioner of Homeopathy.

Sincerely,
